WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Trinity

There is one God who is eternal and makes Himself known in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-existent, co-equal and co-eternal; and are infinite and perfect in holiness, truth, and love.

God the Father

God the Father is the creator of heaven and earth. By God's Word the world was created and is sustained. God created man for fellowship with Himself, and intended that all creation should live to the praise of His glory.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and made salvation available to all mankind through His death on the cross and physical resurrection from the dead. Jesus is fully God and fully man. Jesus has always been with God, and is God. He will return in power and glory at the end of this age.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the person of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and who persuades us to accept Jesus as savior. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer and leads the Church into all truth. The Holy Spirit unites believers in the Body of Christ.

The Holy Bible

The Bible is the authoritative Word of God, inspired, infallible and free of errors as originally given. The Bible alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths, and is the rule and guide of all Christian life and practice.

Man

God created Mankind in His own image - originally good and upright. By Man voluntarily sinning and rebelling against God, this estranged man from his Maker. Man's only hope of returning to relationship with God is salvation through Jesus.

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift of God, available to sinful mankind through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus' shed blood is completely sufficient to cleanse mankind of all sin. Salvation occurs when a person responds in faith by repenting of his sins and accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord. When a person receives salvation, he is indwelt and regenerated by the Holy Spirit, receives forgiveness for his sins, and is adopted into the family of God. Salvation begins when a person experiences new birth, but continues throughout a believer's life as he yields to the influence of the indwelling Holy Spirit, as he is conformed to the character and image of Christ, and as he is delivered from the power of sin over his life. All believers are to be baptized in water after their new birth in obedience to Christ's command, and as a symbol of their union with His death and resurrection.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

The baptism of the Holy Spirit was given to Christian believers at Pentecost after Jesus' resurrection to empower them to preach the gospel and serve the world. The baptism of the Spirit is a distinct experience from the indwelling of the Spirit and features the demonstration of the gifts of the Spirit in believers' lives.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

All the gifts of the Holy Spirit that were in operation in the Church of the first century are available today, and are to be earnestly desired and expected. The gifts of the Spirit are essential for the fulfilling of the mission of the Church.

The Sanctity of Marriage

Marriage is a sacred union, ordained by God and recognized by the church and state, to be a life-long sexually exclusive covenant between 1 man and 1 woman.

The Sanctity of Life

Human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, including the unborn, the aged, the widowed, the mentally handicapped, the unattractive, the physically challenged, and every other condition in which humanness is expressed from conception to the grave.

The Resurrection of the Dead and Final Judgment

All of mankind will be resurrected from the dead at the end of the age--those who have accepted Christ as savior to reign forever with Him in heaven, and those who are without Christ to endure eternal punishment in hell, forever separated from the presence of God.

Angels and Demons

Angels are spiritual beings created by God to help carry out His will, and to minister to Christian believers. The devil and demons are fallen angels who have rebelled against the authority of God and who attempt to hinder God's will by promoting evil and confusion, and by distracting and tempting mankind. The fate of the devil and demons is hell and eternal torment.

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ on earth and consists of people who have become genuine followers of Jesus by personally accepting Him as Savior and Lord. The mission of the Church is to preach the gospel, to make disciples, and to advance the kingdom of God by liberating mankind from deception and bondage. The Church exists to glorify God and to serve Him faithfully in worship, fellowship, intercession, and good works. All Christian believers are an integral part of the Church and are to be a vital and committed member of a local fellowship.

LIVING STONES MINISTRIES HAS ALIGNED THEMSELVES UNDER THE APOSTOLIC OVERSIGHT OF THE KINGSWAY CONNECTION. KINGSWAY IS AN INTERNATIONAL FAMILY OF CHURCHES THAT SHARE SIMILAR VISION AND PURPOSE WITH THEIR HEADQUARTERS LOCATED IN GRANITE FALLS, NORTH CAROLINA.

WE FREQUENTLY HAVE REGIONAL CHRISTIAN BANDS VISIT US RANGING IN A WIDE VARIETY OF MUSICAL STYLES. EVERYTHING FROM METAL TO JAZZ TO BLUEGRASS TO PRAISE & WORSHIP AND MORE HAS PLAYED LIVING STONES COFFEEHOUSE AND IT IS ALWAYS AN AWESOME TIME.

IT'S ALL ABOUT CULTIVATING FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER WITH GOOD, CLEAN, FUN IN A SAFE, CHRISTIAN, ATMOSPHERE ON SATURDAY NIGHTS! FOR THIS REASON WE PROVIDE GAMING, MUSIC, FOOD, BOARD AND CARD GAMES, AND MORE.

WE ARE IN A STOREFRONT IN BETWEEN THE TASTY BOUQUET GIFT SHOP AND ANN COLEMAN'S BOOKKEEPING AND ALSO DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE TOOKLAND PENTECOSTAL CHURCH.

THERE IS LIMITED PARKING IN THE FRONT, BUT A VERY LARGE PARKING LOT TO THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING.
